POLICE have revealed that an 11-year-old was arrested in Somerset in connection with a message they posted on social media.

Details released following a Freedom of Information Act request show there were 92 arrests in Avon and Somerset relating to posts on social media over the past five years – most were posts for judged threatening or obscene.

Eighteen of those arrested were under 18; the youngest was a child of 11, while a 12-year-old and two 13-year-olds were also arrested.
