Shropshire council has said revealing the pay-offs made to senior staff under the Freedom of Information Act would be “unfair”. 

The Shropshire Star report:

Director of places Tom McCabe and head of finance and commerce Rachel Musson drew a combined annual salary of more than £210,000.

They both left the authority recently as part of a management shake-up.

The council’s information governance team today refused a Freedom of Information request from the Shropshire Star – claiming it would be ‘unfair’ to reveal what pay-offs they were given.
