More than 174,000 operations have been cancelled at Welsh hospitals in the past three financial years, it has been revealed.

The statistics, which came from a Freedom of Information request by Plaid Cymru, revealed that an average of 1,346 operations were cancelled every week since 2013-14.

But the Welsh Government has hit back by pointing out that almost half of all procedures are cancelled by patients themselves.
