Swearing in the Tweenies and sexual content in Blue Peter are among the complaints that have been made against children’s television by apparently disgusted viewers, it has been revealed.

Nudity in talent show, The Slammer, sexual content in CBeebies Bedtime Story and bad language in Tracey Beaker were also among the calls received by Ofcom.

A freedom of information request by MailOnline found the broadcast watchdog has been handed 219 complaints about programmes on CBBC and CBeebies in the last two years. Only two have been upheld.
