Fewer than one in five frontline wealth managers are female, leaving the industry lagging the legal and medical professions.

The data, obtained from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) by Wealth Manager under the Freedom of Information act, revealed that just 17.9% of individuals with CF30 permissions to deal in investments identified themselves as female. This compares with 43% in medicine and 24% in law.
