Fines for utility companies overrunning on road works in Oxfordshire have quadrupled over the last four years.

In 2012, Oxfordshire County Council collected £35,550 in fines but this rose to £169,450 in 2015.

Thames Water received the largest fine last year of £50,000 for works in Oxford, a Freedom of Information request to the authority revealed.
