DERBYSHIRE police have fined just two people for lane hogging since new laws came in last August.

And only one motorist was issued with a fine for tailgating another vehicle on the county’s roads.

Lane hogging, especially when drivers stay put in the middle lane, and tailgating – when a driver gets too close to the vehicle in front – are among most motorists’ top irritations.
