The lounge is meant to host the likes of Barack Obama and Chinese president Xi Jinping in a discreet corner of Heathrow Airport.

But it also plays host to less glamorous, home-grown inhabitants including Tory Foreign Secretaries William Hague, Philip Hammond and the bag-carrying civil servants in their retinues.
