NHS Lanarkshire have paid out over £31.4 million in compensation to patients since 2006.

Alarmingly, Wishaw General Hospital is responsible for more than half the clinical negligence claims paid out by the health board in the last eight years.

Figures obtained under Freedom of Information show that since their formation in 2006, NHS Lanarkshire have spent £15.8m on 58 claims relating to the hospital.
