The number of Metropolitan Police staff members disciplined for racism has doubled year-on-year, the Standard reveals today.

Figures show 22 people received formal disciplinary measures for an incident involving racial discrimination in 2012/13 – up from 11 in 2011/12.

The findings, released under the Freedom of Information Act, reveal incidents of racism among Scotland Yard’s entire workforce, including back office workers as well as serving police officers.
