Data released under the Freedom of Information Act shows that, since August 2012, 57 have been detained in Maidenhead Police Station, Bridge Road, under the act, which gives the police the power to hold people ‘in a place of safety’ for 72 hours.

They can also be taken to hospitals to be held and assessed.
