ALMOST £26,000 has been paid to inmates at Swansea Prison since 2014 in compensation claims.

Payouts total £25,754, the majority of which has been for minor injuries, such as slips or falls, or injuries while working.

Two claims for injuries came to £5,750, and £741 was paid out in two claims for lost property. A further £15 was paid for a claim for a ‘postal order error’.
