The Express report:

Murderer Michael Ahearne, 56, has been missing longest – disappearing nearly 29 years ago in November 1984.

The second longest absconder is a 62-year-old drug smuggler identified only as B. Kosten, who disappeared more 20 years ago, in March 1993.

Another three convicts – including two arsonists – have each been on the run for 19 years.
