MORE than 6,000 miles were clocked on Shepshed’s only police car during a 12 month period before the constabulary decided to withdraw it on grounds of under-use.

The Echo submitted a fresh Freedom of Information request after our previous attempt was declined by Leicestershire Police.

Last February, major concerns were expressed by Shepshed councillors after the force decided to withdraw Shepshed’s only police vehicle.
