The Manchester Evening News report:

Council chiefs spent more than £350,000 on trips to South Africa and Germany and consultants as part of England’s disastrous 2018 World Cup bid.

Taxpayers funded a massive £250,000 towards England 2018’s marketing costs.

An additional £135,570 was spent by town hall bosses, including £30,000 on consultants and £37,000 on communications.
