It cost £38,000 for the Olympic torch to pass through the Royal Borough, a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Royal Borough Observer report: 

THE Olympic Torch passing through the Royal Borough in July last year, cost the council £38,000, a Freedom of Information request has revealed.

Marshalling, fencing and security, bunting and decorations and parking suspensions were the major contributing factors to the overall cost.
