A NHS trust took 3 years to conduct proper criminal records checks on its doctors and nurses, a Freedom of Information request has revealed. 

The Mirror report:

Doctors and nurses worked in the NHS without proper criminal ­record checks for as long as THREE YEARS.

Among those who slipped through the net were paediatric staff, who are classed as high risk because they treat children.

Details of the shocking CRB blunder at the Barts Health NHS Trust have emerged in a Freedom of ­Information report obtained by the Health Service Journal.
